佛以姨母出家。嘆正法由此而減。使女人出家者皆如上五人。正法其彌昌乎。而勢所不能。佛之懸記非過矣。噫真正出家之男子。邇來尚不多得。而況女眾歟。吾於是乎有感。

Because his maternal aunt underwent pravrajyā, the Buddha lamented that the true Dharma would diminish on account of it. If women who undergo pravrajyā were all like the five persons above, would not the true Dharma flourish ever more? Yet circumstances do not permit it; the Buddha's prophetic prediction was no error! Alas, even truly renounced men are nowadays rarely to be found, how much less so women! On this matter I am deeply moved.
