In the Song dynasty, Lady Zheng was a person of Qiantang. Daily she recited the Guanyin Sūtra as her regular practice and engaged in buddhamanasikāra without ceasing. Later, while ill, she asked for a bath. Having bathed, she sat facing west and asked her family, "Do you hear the sound of the stone chime? The sages of the Pure Land are about to arrive." Shortly thereafter, she joined her palms, leaped for joy, and said, "The Buddhas and bodhisattvas have come! Guanyin holds a golden terrace in hand, and the Tathāgata receives me to ascend the seat." Thereupon she quietly passed away.
