宋錢塘龔氏。晝來念佛。誦彌陀經。後有疾。請亨律師指示。陳說未終端坐而化。老妾于氏。亦念佛不輟。一夕夢。龔氏告云。我已生淨土。汝七日當生。至期而逝。

In the Song dynasty, Lady Gong of Qiantang spent her days practicing buddhamanasikāra and reciting the Amitābha Sūtra. Later she fell ill, and invited Vinaya Master Heng for instruction. Before he had finished his explanation, she sat upright and passed away. Her elderly concubine, Lady Yu, also practiced buddhamanasikāra without ceasing. One night in a dream, Lady Gong told her, "I have already been born in the Pure Land; you will be born there in seven days." When the time arrived, she passed away.
