宋秦氏淨堅。家松江厭惡女身。與夫各處。精持齋戒。閱華嚴法華光明般若經。無虛日。晨昏修彌陀懺。禮佛千拜久之。有光明入室。面西安坐而終。

In the Song dynasty, Lady Qin, Jingjian, had her home in Songjiang. Disgusted with the female body, she lived separately from her husband, strictly maintaining the dietary precepts. She read the Avataṃsaka, Lotus, Suvarṇaprabhāsa, and Prajñāpāramitā sūtras without a single day's lapse. Morning and evening she performed the Amitābha Repentance, bowing to the Buddha a thousand times; after a long time, bright light entered the room, and facing west, she sat peacefully and passed away.
