Zheng Jing'an of the Yuan dynasty was a native of Qiantang. Not a day passed without her practicing buddhamanasikāra. Falling ill, she heard a voice from the sky saying, "Your departure has an appointed time; do not be negligent." She also saw the golden body of the Buddha, whereupon she roused herself, sat upright facing west, and summoned her son Yixiu, who had taken pravrajyā, to chant the Amitābha Sūtra. She then suddenly transformed. Her daughter had a dream in which the mother reported, "I have already attained rebirth in the Pure Land; you may inform Master Xiu of this."
