贊曰。觀其地獄至急。手作香爐蓋勢迫。情極懇苦精誠。更無第二念矣。雖云十念寧不遠過悠悠者百千萬億念。決定往生理實如是。或疑菩薩示現者容有之。而不盡然也。

In praise: Seeing that hell was upon him with utmost urgency, his hands served as an incense burner; the situation being desperate, his feelings reached an apex of earnest anguish and pure sincerity, leaving no room for a second thought. Though spoken of as ten recitations, how could it not far surpass the countless hundreds of thousands of millions of slack recitations of ordinary times? That rebirth is assured follows truly from this principle. Some suspect that this was a manifestation of a bodhisattva; this may well be so, but it is not necessarily the case.
