宋張迪。錢塘人。官助教。從圓淨律師。受菩薩戒。咨問淨業法門。篤志修持。誓生安養。每念佛時。揚聲勇猛。至失音猶不已。一日謂圓淨曰。定中見白色頻伽鳥飛舞於前。又三年。西向端坐。念佛而化。

Zhang Di of the Song was a native of Qiantang. He served as an assistant instructor (zhujiao). He received the bodhisattva precepts from Vinaya Master Yuanjing, inquired into the teaching of pure karma, and practiced with earnest dedication, vowing to be reborn in Peaceful Nourishment. Whenever he engaged in buddhamanasikāra, he raised his voice with such vigor that even when his voice failed he still did not stop. One day he said to Yuanjing: 'In samādhi I saw a white kalaviṅka bird flying and dancing before me.' Three years later, sitting upright facing west, he engaged in buddhamanasikāra and passed away.
