宋仲明。居山陰報恩寺。素無戒檢。因感疾。謂同學道寧曰。我今心識散亂。何藥可治。寧教以隨息念佛。明如所教。至七日力已困憊。寧又令想目前佛像。久之忽見二菩薩。次復見佛。瞑目而逝。

Zhongming of the Song dynasty lived at Bao'en Monastery in Shanyin. He had always been lax regarding the precepts. Due to contracting an illness, he said to his fellow student Daoning, "My mental consciousness is scattered and confused right now; what medicine can cure it?" Ning instructed him to practice buddhamanasikāra in rhythm with his breath. Ming did as instructed. By the seventh day, his strength was exhausted. Ning further told him to visualize the Buddha's image before his eyes. After a long while, he suddenly saw two bodhisattvas, and next saw the Buddha again, closed his eyes, and passed away.
