贊曰。僧入冥見居士。晏坐靜室。經籍盈几。庭多紫竹石峯。清絕如洞天。夫居士宜生極樂。胡為尚在冥境。意者平日志切誦經。經願未滿。滿願而後往生歟。

The eulogy says: A monk entered the underworld and saw the layman sitting peacefully in a quiet room, with sūtras and books filling the table, the courtyard filled with purple bamboo and stone crags, exquisitely pure like a grotto heaven. Now the layman should have been born in Sukhāvatī; why was he still in the realm of the underworld? It seems that in life he was firmly devoted to reciting sūtras, and before his sūtra vows were fulfilled, he could only attain rebirth after their completion.
