2.51

宋鍾離瑾。提刑浙西日。遇慈雲懺主。遂篤信淨土。後知開封。出則盡瘁國事。入則不𥧌念佛。忽夜促家人。起索浴更衣坐逝。舉家見瑾乘青蓮。仙樂迎引西去。

Zhongli Jin of the Song dynasty was serving as Judicial Commissioner of Western Zhe when he met Master Ciyun, the Penance Master, whereupon he came to have deep faith in the Pure Land. Later he governed Kaifeng. Outwardly he exhausted himself in the affairs of state, while privately he engaged in buddhamanasikāra without sleeping. Suddenly one night he urged his family to rise, asked for a bath, changed his clothes, and passed away seated. His entire family saw Jin mount a blue lotus, guided toward the Western Direction by celestial music.
