往生集 3.21

3.21

楞伽經云。大慧汝當知。善逝涅槃後。未來世當有持於我法者大名德比丘。厥號為龍樹。能破有無宗。世間中顯我無上大乘法。得初歡喜地。往生安樂國。

The Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra says: 'Mahāmati, you should know that after the Sugata's nirvāṇa, in a future age there will be a bhikṣu of great renowned virtue who will uphold my Dharma; his name will be Nāgārjuna. He will be able to destroy the doctrines of existence and non-existence, and reveal my supreme Mahāyāna Dharma in the world. Having attained the first stage, the Ground of Joy, he will be reborn in the Land of Peace and Joy.'
