3.30

大智度論云。有諸菩薩。自念謗大般若。墮惡道。歷無量劫。雖修餘行。不能滅罪。後遇知識教念阿彌陀佛。乃得滅障。超生淨土。

The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: There were bodhisattvas who remembered having slandered the Great Prajñā and fallen into evil destinies, where they underwent immeasurable kalpas. Although they cultivated other practices, they could not eradicate their transgressions. Later, they met a spiritual friend (kalyāṇamitra) who taught them to practice buddhamanasikāra toward Amitābha Buddha, whereupon they were able to eradicate their hindrances and transcend [saṃsāra] to be reborn in the Pure Land.
