3.47

贊曰。殺生遲其得祿。念佛解其殺冤。今士人以牲牢。乞祐於鬼神。而不知持萬德之洪名。其為計亦左矣。願三獻連城者。識此於鐵硯之側。

The appreciation says: Taking life delayed his attainment of official emolument; buddhamanasikāra resolved his enmity from killing. Scholars today use livestock sacrifices to beg for blessings from ghosts and spirits, unaware of holding the magnificent name endowed with myriad virtues—their plan is indeed mistaken! I hope those who present the jade of linked cities three times will note this beside their iron inkstones.
