時諸弟子即以香薪競茶毘之。燼後金棺如故。爾時大眾即於佛前以偈讚曰。

Then the disciples competed to cremate him with fragrant firewood. After the fire burned out, the golden coffin remained as before. At that time, before the Buddha, the great assembly praised him with a verse, saying:
