Great Master Fanduan of Mount Yanqing in Xiangzhou. Someone asked, "An earthworm is cut into two pieces, and both ends move. In which end does the Buddha-nature reside?" The master opened both hands. (Dongshan said instead, "In which end does the questioner reside?") After the master's passing, he was posthumously granted the title Great Master Shaozhen, and his stupa was named Mingjin.
