安州大安山清幹禪師。問從上諸聖從何而證。師乃斫額。問如何是祖師西來意。師曰羊頭車子推明月。

Chan Master Qinggan of Mount Da'an in Anzhou. A monk asked, "From what did the saints of old realize [enlightenment]?" The master placed his hand over his forehead. The monk asked, "What was the ancestral master's intention in coming from the West?" The master said, "A sheep-headed cart pushes the bright moon."
