15.37

西川青城香山澄照大師。僧問。諸佛有難向火焰裏藏身。未審衲僧有難向什麼處藏身。師曰。水精甕裏著波斯。問如何是初生月。師曰。太半人不見。

Great Master Chengzhao of Xiangshan in Qingcheng, Xichuan. A monk asked, "When the buddhas encounter difficulty, they hide themselves in flames. Where does a patch-robed monk hide himself when he encounters difficulty?" The Master said, "Placing a Persian inside a crystal jar." A monk asked, "What is the new moon?" The Master said, "More than half the people do not see it."
