17.43

潭州龍興和尚。僧問。一撥便轉時如何。師曰。根不利。問得座披衣時如何。師曰。不端嚴。曰為什麼不端嚴。師曰。不從證得。問如何是道中人。師曰。終日寂攢眉。

Upādhyāya Longxing of Tanzhou. A monk asked, "What is it like when with a single nudge it turns at once?" The master said, "The faculty is not sharp." A monk asked, "What is it like when one obtains the seat and dons the robe?" The master said, "Not dignified." The monk said, "Why is it not dignified?" The master said, "It was not attained through realization." A monk asked, "What is the person in the Way?" The master said, "All day long, quietly knitting the brows."
