17.45

京兆白雲善藏禪師。僧問。如何是深深處。師曰。矮子渡深溪。問赤脚時如何。師曰。何不脫却。問如何是法法不生。師曰。萬水千山。

Chan Master Shanzang of Baiyun in Jingzhao. A monk asked, "What is the profound place?" The master said, "A short person crossing a deep creek." A monk asked, "What is it like when one is barefoot?" The master said, "Why not take them off?" A monk asked, "What is 'no phenomena arise'?" The master said, "Ten thousand rivers and a thousand mountains."
