歸呈雪峯。雪峯然之。僧問。如何是佛身。師曰。汝問那箇佛身。曰釋伽佛身。師曰。舌覆三千界。師臨終時集眾。示一偈曰。
He returned and presented it to Xuefeng, who approved it. A monk asked, 'What is the Buddha-body?' The master said, 'Which Buddha-body are you asking about?' [The monk] said, 'The body of Śākyamuni Buddha.' The master said, 'His tongue covers the three-thousandfold world.' When the master was nearing the end of his life, he gathered the assembly and gave a verse:
