20.53

興元府青剉山和尚。問如何是和尚家風。師曰。無底籃子拾生菜。問如何是白馬境。師曰。三冬華木秀九夏雪霜飛。

Upādhyāya of Mount Qingcuo in Xingyuan Prefecture. A monk asked, "What is the Upādhyāya's house style?" The Master said, "Gathering wild greens with a bottomless basket." The monk asked, "What is the environment of Baima?" The Master said, "In the three months of winter, flowering trees flourish; during the ninety days of summer, snow and frost fly."
