京兆白雲無休禪師。問路逢猛虎如何降伏。師曰。歸依佛歸依法歸依僧。問如何是白雲境。師曰。月夜樓邊海客愁。

Chan Master Wuxiu of Baiyun in Jingzhao. A monk asked, "When encountering a fierce tiger on the road, how does one subdue it?" The Master said, "Take refuge in the Buddha, take refuge in the Dharma, take refuge in the Saṅgha." A monk asked, "What is the realm of Baiyun?" The Master said, "Beside the tower on a moonlit night, the ocean traveler grieves."
