潭州文殊和尚。僧問。如何是祝融峯前事。師曰。巖前瑞草生。問仁王登位萬姓霑恩。和尚出世何如。師曰。萬里長沙駕鐵船。問如何是本爾莊嚴。師曰。菊華原上景行人去路長。

Upādhyāya Wenshu of Tan Prefecture. A monk asked: "What is the affair before Zhurong Peak?" The master said: "Auspicious grass grows before the cliff." [A monk] asked: "When the benevolent king ascends the throne, the ten thousand commoners are drenched in benevolence. How is it when the upādhyāya appears in the world?" The master said: "Steering an iron ship ten thousand li across Changsha." [A monk] asked: "What is primordial adornment?" The master said: "Scenery on the Chrysanthemum Plain; the traveler's road is long."
