22.40

泉州後招慶和尚。問末後一句請師商量。師曰。塵中人自老天際月常明。問如何是和尚家風。師曰。一瓶兼一鉢到處是生涯。問如何是佛法大意。師曰。擾擾怱怱晨雞暮鐘。

The Upādhyāya of Later Zhaojing in Quanzhou. [A monk] asked, "I invite the Master to discuss the final phrase." The Master said, "People in the dust age of themselves; the moon on the edge of heaven is constantly bright." [The monk] asked, "What is the upādhyāya's house style?" The Master said, "A bottle and a bowl—everywhere is my livelihood." [The monk] asked, "What is the great meaning of the Buddha Dharma?" The Master said, "Bustling and hurried: morning rooster, evening bell."
