22.47

後南嶽金輪和尚。僧問。如何是金輪第一句。師曰。鈍漢。問如何是金輪一隻箭。師曰。過也。曰臨機一箭誰是當者。師曰。倒也。

The later Upādhyāya Jinlun of the Southern Peak. A monk asked, "What is Jinlun's first phrase?" The Master said, "Dull fellow." [The monk] asked, "What is Jinlun's single arrow?" The Master said, "It has passed." [The monk] asked, "When an arrow is fired in an encounter, who can face it?" The Master said, "Fallen!"
