23.74

襄州白馬山行靄禪師。僧問。如何是清淨法身。師曰。井底蝦蟇吞却月。問如何是白馬正眼。師曰。向南看北斗。

Chan Master Xing’ai of Mount Baima in Xiangzhou. A monk asked, “What is the pure Dharma body?” The Master said, “A frog at the bottom of a well swallows the moon.” The monk asked, “What is the correct Dharma eye of Baima?” The Master said, “Facing south, look at the Northern Dipper.”
