筠州上藍院慶禪師。初遊方問雪峯。如何是雪峯的的意。雪峯以杖子敲師頭。師應諾。峯大笑。師後承洞山印解居于上藍。僧問如何是上藍無刃劍。師曰無。僧曰。為什麼無。師曰。闍梨諸方有。

Chan Master Qing of Shanglan Cloister in Junzhou. When first traveling on pilgrimage, he asked Xuefeng, “What is the exact meaning of Xuefeng?” Xuefeng struck the Master’s head with his staff. The Master responded with assent. Xuefeng laughed heartily. Later, receiving Dongshan’s seal of understanding, the Master resided at Shanglan. A monk asked, “What is the edgeless sword of Shanglan?” The Master said, “There is none.” The monk said, “Why is there none?” The Master said, “The Ācārya has it from all quarters.”
