廬山棲賢寺道堅禪師。有官人問。某甲收金陵布陣殺人無數。還有罪也無。師曰。老僧只管看問如何是祖師西來意。師曰。揚瀾左里無風浪起。問如何是棲賢境。師曰。棲賢有什麼境。

Chan Master Daojian of Qixian Temple on Mount Lu. An official asked, "I took Jinling, deployed battle arrays, and killed countless people. Is there any guilt or not?" The Master said, "This old monk only watches." [The official] asked, "What is the meaning of the ancestral master's coming from the West?" The Master said, "At the Zuoli of Yanglan, waves rise where there is no wind." [The official] asked, "What is the environment of Qixian?" The Master said, "What environment does Qixian have?"
