撫州覆船和尚。僧問。如何是佛。師曰。不識。問如何是祖師西來意。師曰。莫謗祖師。

Upādhyāya Fuchuan of Fuzhou. A monk asked, "What is the Buddha?" The Master said, "I do not know." He asked, "What is the intention of the ancestral master in coming from the west?" The Master said, "Do not slander the ancestral master."
