誌公云。每日拈香擇火不知身是道場。玄沙云。每日拈香擇火不知真箇道場（玄覺徵云。只如此二尊者語還有親疎也無）。

Master Zhi said, "Holding incense and picking out embers every day, one does not know that the body is the place of enlightenment (bodhimaṇḍa)." Xuansha said, "Holding incense and picking out embers every day, one does not know the real place of enlightenment." (Xuanjue inquired critically: "Regarding the words of these two venerable ones, is there still intimacy and estrangement or not?")
