The ultimate Way is deep and vast; do not express it in words. / Verbal expression is not the pointer; who can say this is it? / Everywhere is That; how can it be illustrated by real or empty? / If one were to discern real and empty, it would be like reflections in a mirror. / Though existence and non-existence are manifest, in all places there is no harm. / Free of harm and free of location, what restriction or obstruction could there be? / Without relying on accomplished effort, by what could it be naturally so? / Being naturally so or not naturally so are both mutually dependent like lips and teeth. / If presented in this manner, the fundamental lineage is buried and lost. / The lineage is not stated in concepts; it cannot be grasped by seeing and hearing. / If seeing and hearing are not shed, it is like the moon in the water. / If not clear about this, it turns into redundant dharmas. / If a single dharma has form, it obscures your eyes. / When the eyes are not clear, the world is rugged and chaotic. / Our tradition is extraordinary, directly manifest and illustrious. / The Buddhas and sentient beings all receive its gracious power. / It does not lie in bowing the head and deliberating, which is hard to attain. / Pierce through the face, covering heaven and earth! / Quickly recognize and grasp it, casting off sense faculties and dust! / If you do not understand, it is in vain to speak of the present.
