東堂不折桂。南華不學仙。却來乾竺寺。披衣效坐禪。禪若效坐得。非想亦何偏（經劫守閑。不出生死）為報參禪者。須悟道中玄。如何道中玄。真規自宛然。

In the Eastern Hall, not plucking the cassia; / In Nanhua, not studying to become an immortal. / Coming instead to the Qianzhu Monastery, / Donning the robe to emulate sitting meditation. / If Chan could be attained by emulating sitting, / How could the heaven of neither-perception be biased? / (Passing kalpas keeping idle, not escaping birth and death.) / Let me tell those who investigate Chan: / You must awaken to the profound within the Way. / What is the profound within the Way? / The true standard is naturally manifest.
