祖意逈然傳一句。教中廣布引三乘。淨名倒嶽雷聲吼。鶖子孤潭月影澄。𮠔市賣魚忘進趣。巖林飼虎望超升。雖知同體權方便。也似炎天日裏燈。

The patriarch's intention far surpasses, transmitting a single phrase; / In the teachings it is widely propagated to guide the three vehicles. / Vimalakīrti toppled the mountain with a roar like thunder; / Śāriputra was like the moon's reflection clear upon a solitary pool. / Selling fish in the marketplace, one forgets striving for progress; / Feeding the tiger in the craggy forest, one hopes for transcendence. / Though knowing they are of the same essence as provisional expedients, / It is still like lighting a lamp under the midday sun on a scorching day.
