莫誇祇對句分明。執句尋言誤殺卿。只合文殊便是道。虧他居士杳無聲。見人須棄敲門物。知路仍忘堠子名。儻若不疑言會盡。何妨默默默浮生。

Do not boast that your answering phrases are distinct and clear; / Clinging to phrases and seeking in words will utterly mislead you. / One merely considers Mañjuśrī to be the Way, / Failing to notice that the layman remained soundless and profound. / When meeting someone, you must discard the thing used to knock at the gate; / Knowing the road, you should forget the name on the milestone. / If you do not doubt that words can be exhausted, / What harm is there in remaining silent, silent, silent throughout this floating life?
