古今以拂示東南。大意幽微肯易參。動指掩頭元是一。斜眸拊掌固非三。道吾無笏同人會。石鞏彎弓作者諳。此理若無師印授。欲將何見語玄談。

Past and present, they hold up the fly whisk to show the southeast; / Is the subtle and profound general purport easily investigated? / Moving a finger or covering the head is fundamentally one; / Glancing sideways or clapping hands is certainly not three. / Daowu having no court tablet is understood by fellow travelers; / Shigong drawing his bow is known to skilled adepts. / If this principle lacks the master's seal and transmission, / What view will you use to speak of mysterious discourse?
