30.24

修道道無可修。問法法無可問。迷人不了色空。悟者本無逆順。八萬四千法門。至理不離方寸。識取自家城郭。莫謾尋他鄉郡。不用廣學多聞。不要辯才聰俊。不知月之大小。不管歲之餘閏。煩惱即是菩提。淨華生於泥糞。人來問我若為。不能共伊談論。寅朝用粥充飢。齋時更餐一頓。今日任運騰騰。明日騰騰任運。心中了了總知。且作佯癡縛鈍。

Cultivating the Way—there is no Way that can be cultivated. / Inquiring into the Dharma—there is no Dharma that can be inquired into. / Deluded people do not understand form and emptiness; / for the awakened, there is fundamentally neither adverse nor favorable. / The eighty-four thousand dharma-gates— / the ultimate principle is not apart from the square inch [of the heart]. / Recognize your own citadel and wall; / do not wander off in search of other towns and counties. / There is no need for broad learning and extensive hearing; / no need for eloquence and clever sharpness. / Not knowing whether a month is short or long, / taking no care for the extra leap month of the year. / Affliction is itself bodhi; / pure flowers grow in mud and manure. / If someone comes to ask me how things are, / I cannot engage in discussion with them. / In the morning at Yin hour, eat porridge to fill hunger; / at midday, take another meal. / Today, free and easy, soaring along; / tomorrow, soaring along, free and easy. / Within the mind, all is clearly known; / for now, pretend to be foolish, slow, and dull.
