30.34

雲天雨落庭中水。水上漂漂見漚起。前者已滅後者生。前後相續無窮已。本因雨滴水成漚。還緣風激漚歸水。不知漚水性無殊。隨他轉變將為異。外明瑩內含虛。內外玲瓏若寶珠。正在澄波看似有。及乎動著又如無。有無動靜事難明。無相之中有相形。只知漚向水中出。豈知水亦從漚生。權將漚水類余身。五蘊虛攢假立人。解達蘊空漚不實。方能明見本來真。

From cloudy skies rain falls upon the water in the courtyard; / floating on the water, bubbles are seen to arise. / The earlier ones are already extinguished; the later ones arise; / earlier and later continue in succession without end. / Originally, because of raindrops the water becomes bubbles; / again, driven by the wind, the bubbles return to water. / Not knowing that the nature of bubble and water is not different, / following their transformations, one takes them to be distinct. / Outside bright and glistening, inside containing emptiness; / inside and outside translucent like a precious pearl. / Right when on clear waves, it appears to exist; / when touched, it is again as if non-existent. / Existence and non-existence, movement and stillness: the matter is hard to fathom; / within marklessness there are marked forms. / You only know that bubbles emerge from water; / how could you know that water is also born from bubbles? / Provisionally I compare bubble and water to my own body: / the five aggregates falsely gathered establish a temporary person. / Thoroughly understanding the aggregates to be empty and the bubble unreal, / only then can you clearly see the original truth.
