非戒不禪。非禪不慧。上既修定。定久慧明。故次第五明毘婆舍那頌也。
Without precepts, there is no dhyāna; without dhyāna, there is no wisdom. Since samādhi has been cultivated above, when samādhi lasts long, wisdom becomes brilliant. Therefore, the fifth clarifies the verses on vipaśyanā.
