5.78

第五誡其疎怠者。然渡海應上船。非船何以能渡。修心必須入觀。非觀何以明心。心尚未明相應何日。思之勿自恃也。

The fifth, admonishing the negligent: Now, to cross the sea one must board a boat; without a boat, how could one cross? To cultivate the mind one must enter contemplation; without contemplation, how could one clarify the mind? If the mind is not yet clarified, on what day will there be correspondence? Reflect on this and do not rely on your own conceits.
