澧州大同廣澄禪師。僧問。如何是六根滅。師云。輪劍擲空（舊本作雲）無傷於物。問如何是本來人。師云。共坐不相識。僧云。恁麼即學人禮謝下去。師云。暗寫愁腸寄與誰。

Chan Master Guangcheng of Datong in Lizhou. A monk asked, "What is the cessation of the six sense faculties?" The Master said, "Spinning a sword and tossing it into the air (in an older edition, 'into the clouds') causes no harm to anything." He asked, "What is the original person?" The Master said, "Sitting together, not knowing each other." The monk said, "In that case, the student makes prostrations and takes his leave." The Master said, "Secretly writing down one's sorrowful thoughts, to whom would one send them?"
