The Dīrghāgama Sūtra says: When the human lifespan was forty thousand years, this Buddha appeared in the world. His caste was Brāhmaṇa; his family name was Kāśyapa. His father was Agnidatta; his mother was Viśākhā. He resided in the city of Kṣemavatī. Sitting beneath a śirīṣa tree, he expounded the Dharma in one assembly, delivering forty thousand people. He had two foremost disciples endowed with supernormal powers: one named Sañjīva and the second named Vidhura. His attendant was Buddhi; his son was Uttara.
