The Dīrghāgama Sūtra says: When the human lifespan was thirty thousand years, this Buddha appeared in the world. His caste was Brāhmaṇa; his family name was Kāśyapa. His father was Brahmadatta; his mother was Uttarā. He resided in the city of Śobhavatī. Sitting beneath an udumbara tree, he expounded the Dharma in one assembly, delivering thirty thousand people. He had two foremost disciples endowed with supernormal powers: one named Śibhi and the second named Uttara. His attendant was Kṣema; his son was Sārthavāha.
