The Venerable One arose from samādhi and instructed the assembly, saying, “The Dharma I have attained is because it is not existent. If you would know the Buddha-ground, it is because it is free from existence and non-existence.” Having spoken these words, he re-entered samādhi and displayed the sign of nirvāṇa. Buddhanandi then built a seven-jeweled stūpa at his original seat to inter his whole body. This was in the nineteenth year of King Ding, the year xinhai (should be the seventeenth year).
