Upādhyāya Haihu of Taiyuan. Once, someone invited the Tripiṭaka Master of Abhiṣeka to receive offerings. The seat having been arranged, the Master went and sat in his place. At that time, a lecturing master named Yunshe asked, "In what year did the Upādhyāya practice the Way?" The Master said, "Lecturing master, come closer." She stepped forward. The Master said, "Just as with Kauṇḍinya, in what year did he practice the Way?" She was at a loss. The Master scolded him, saying, "This bed-wetting ghost!" A monk asked, "Why are there so few people in the Upādhyāya's courtyard, while in the Dingshui Courtyard there are so many?" The Master said, "Where the grass is deep, there are many wild deer; where the cliff is high, the xiezhi is rare."
