Great Master Zixing Mingwu of Longce Temple in Hangzhou. A monk asked, "In the correct position, is there still someone who attains Buddhahood or not?" The Master said, "Who is a sentient being?" The monk said, "If so, then all attain Buddhahood." The Master said, "Give me back the correct position." The monk said, "What is the correct position?" The Master said, "You are a sentient being." The monk asked, "What is the priceless jewel?" The Master said, "Bian He vainly embraced the uncut jade." The monk said, "If he suddenly met the King of Chu, would he present it or not?" The Master said, "Ordinary and holy succeed one another." The monk asked, "What was the ancient's intention in holding up the cloth feather?" The Master said, "The ācārya has not cited it completely." The monk said, "How should it be cited?" The Master thereupon held up his kaṣāya.
