In the second year of the Shenlong era, he entered extinction at Tiangong Temple in the Eastern Capital. He was posthumously granted the title "Chan Master Datong." With imperial ceremonial paraphernalia and Dharma requisites, his funeral procession was escorted to Longmen. The Emperor accompanied it as far as the bridge, and princes, dukes, scholars, and commoners all went to the burial site. Zhang Yue and the summoned scholar Lu Hongyi each composed an epitaph and eulogy. His disciples Puji, Yifu, and others were all revered by both the court and the public.
