臨江軍慧力院紹珍禪師。僧問。金雞未鳴時如何。師曰。是何時節。曰鳴後如何。師曰。却不知時。問師子未出窟時如何。師曰。在那裏。曰出窟後如何。師曰。且走。

Chan Master Shaozhen of Huili Monastery in Linjiang Commandery. A monk asked, "What is it like before the golden rooster crows?" The Master said, "What season is it?" The monk said, "What about after it crows?" The Master said, "Then it does not know the time." A monk asked, "What is it like before the lion leaves its cave?" The Master said, "Where is it?" The monk said, "What about after it leaves the cave?" The Master said, "It just runs."
