16.27

舒州宿松縣靈隱德滋山主。蜀人。住院二十年。每日獨自上堂曰。朝朝相似日日一般。只這便是更莫別求。元豐六年十月四日陞堂集眾。良久曰。會麼。眾無語。師儼然而逝。

Mountain Master Dezi of Linyin in Susong County, Shuzhou, was a native of Shu. He resided at the temple for twenty years. Every day he would ascend the hall alone and say, 'Every morning is alike; every day is the same. Just this is it; seek nothing else.' On the fourth day of the tenth month of the sixth year of the Yuanfeng era, he ascended the hall and gathered the assembly. After a long pause, he said, 'Do you understand?' The assembly was silent. The master solemnly passed away.
