Chan Master Qingxian of Dahong in Suizhou was a son of the Yang family of Guang'an. A monk asked, "When Subhūti sat in ease within the cliff cave, Śakra rained down flowers. When you, Upādhyāya, have newly occupied Hong Peak, what auspicious sign is there?" The master said, "An iron ox plows through the land of Fusang; leaping forth, the golden crow illuminates the ocean gate." The monk said, "I wonder, what lineage tenets are these?" The master said, "The iron that boils tea differs from the kettle."
