隨州水南智昱禪師上堂曰。欲識解脫道。今日參較早。唯念路行難。水深魚不少。參又曰。欲識解脫道。雞鳴已天曉。趙州庭前柏。打落青州棗。喝一喝。

Chan Master Zhiyu of Shuinan in Suizhou ascended the hall and said, "If you wish to know the path of liberation, / You have come to participate somewhat early today. / I only reflect that the traveling on the road is difficult; / The water is deep and the fish are not few. / Participate!" He also said, "If you wish to know the path of liberation, / The cock crows and it is already dawn. / The cypress tree in Zhaozhou's courtyard / Knocks down the dates of Qingzhou." He gave a shout.
